The TS1 and D10 tied up in the ultimate underwater camera royal rumble. And as far as we know Canon’s D10 underwater camera can go deep down to 33 feet while Panasonic’s Lumix TS1 can only do 3 meter around (9.8425197 feet), the D10 can dive three times than the Ts1. But this doesn’t mean that serius scuba divers should look away from the TS1.
I love to take pictures and I think it’s time to take the hobby under water. I’ve been on a hunt for a good waterproof and tough camera, at first my only option was the Olympus Tough 8000, it’s tough and waterproof although it’s also freeze proof, living in a tropical country like the Philippines makes that feature irrelevant unless you want to hide your digital camera in the freezer.
It came to my attention that a fellow writer had some test on the water resistancy of two cameras, namely the Canon Powershot D10 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC TSI which both recently launched as the first water resistant cameras of the said camera makers. Though they weren’t tested outdoors but both showed good quality.[via Gizmodo]
