According to reports, Olympus is set out for a majoy software update to their PEN Micro Four Thirds camera. It should be posted on April 22 and will come with a Digital Camera App to make updating easier. The update will make the E-P1, E-P2 and E-PL1 auto-focus faster regardless of lens. Like the Tough 6000 the Tough 3000 is a 12 megapixel waterproof (up to 10 feet), freeze proof (-10 Celsius) and shock proof  (able to withstand 5ft fall) compact camera. To all those guys who expect that next PEN (E-P2) to have a built-in viewfinder listen up, I found a photo of the supposedly next micro-fourthirds from Olympus and it’ll break your already broken heart. Sorry guys, the next Olympus PEN will don’t have a built-in view finder. But the externeal EVF slot is a hint that there’s an external viewfinder accessory for it.

Yesterday Olympus made the E-600 official.  And we learned that the E-600 is a trimmed out, cheaper E-620. Other than the removal of back-lit keys and few firmware downgrade it seems like the E-600 is identical to E-620 see for yourself.

Today August 31, 2009, Olympus Imaging America Officially Announced the new E-600 Digital SLR . The E-600 is lower end version of the E-620. While comparing available tough digital cameras I stumbled upon Olympus µ TOUGH 6010 which I think is an upgrade to Tough 6000 but less tougher than the 8000.
