Nokia seems to target the female market with the new Nokia 7705 Twist. If you search for Nokia 7705 Twist on youtube you’ll see an Advertisement for the twist (watch the ad after the cut). It just shows how cute the little thing is.
I must admit the I like the design, although you won’t see me holding the twist while walking my dog. I think the design is quite unique. The Twist is a square phone which you twist to reveal the full QWERTY keyboard beneath it’s 2.4 inch LCD screen. Nokia dubbed it as a messaging phone, the twist fork factor is made for easy and quick SMSing on the move. It features threaded messages for easy tracking of each conversation, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a “post-to-blog” feature that will send your photos and SMS to social networking site, like facebook and twitter.
When closed the twist doesn’t look like a phone nor a personal media player, it reminds me of the TAMAGOCHI keychain, it also looks like my wife’s blush on powder. But when you flick the top half and the QWERTY keyboard appears it now looks like a real messaging phone. So how does the Nokia Twist performs? read on and we’ll feature some expert reviews.
Reviews of the Twist
Some might say, “I don’t want a phone that looks good, I want a phone that works well.” There’s no question that the Twist is a compromise — no one, not even Verizon or Nokia, would dare make the argument that this is the ultimate form factor for productivity. That’s not why the Twist exists. It’s a sharp-looking phone that’s just strange enough to turn heads, has a great keyboard for messaging, and accomplishes everything else your average midrange phone is expected to do acceptably well. (Heck, drop Series 40 on this, swap radios, and sell it internationally as a new budget style phone — Nokia’s certainly no stranger to hawking odd form factors in the name of fashion.) And hey, if you want the same thing with a more traditional design, just head on over to the similarly-priced Intrigue — but for some, the Twist is just what the doctor ordered.

The Nokia Twist 7705′s bizarre design won’t be for everyone, but it pulls through with decent features and good call quality. On the other hand, it’s not a practical Internet or multimedia device.

According to mobileburn the hinge feels solid, though the back feels squeaky and poorly designed.
The speaker is load enough, but you can’t make calls when the keyboard is tucked.

My take is.. It’s innovative design makes blogging and sending SMS fast and quick. It does not compete with the Samsung Rogue, and other smartphone but it’s a full featured phone. It’s kinda like a fashion phone for the ladies. And will only appeal to the metrosexual men, or just the wanna-be-different guys out there. This thing is nice and cute that you’ll wife or girlfriend will love.
