So far the best tough camera for tropical climate is the Panasonic TS1 due to its good image reproduction and ability to shoot 720p HD movies, but if 720p is not enough and you want to go 1080p HD the Kodak Playsport Camcorder is the step a step up.
The Kodak Playsport Camcorder is a camcorder made to go extremes and dive deep up to 10 feet. The built-in electronic image stabilization eliminates blur making videos crisp and clear, who like a blurry 1080p movies afterall?. It also shoot photos at 5 Megapixel resolution in 16:9 (widescreen) ratio.
The Playsport promises to produce movies with great details and accurate colours even in low light, and its 2 inch LCD display is equipped with Glare Shield making it still usable even in direct sun light. You can record up to 10 hours of HD video on an SHDC card and switch memory cards when the 32GB is already full.
