Designed by 5.5 Designers, Lacie seems to reinvent the Coin with their CurrenKey USB Flash Drive. Shaped like a coin the Currenkey Flash Drive is small (36mm diameter and 9mm think)  enough to fit your pocket or purse. Available in four different capacity  4GB Bronze, 8GB Silver and 16 GB Gold, each coin is made with a durable shock-proof die-cast casing. Like areal coin one side is embossed with it’s capacity while having a USB logo with lacie brand embosed on the other. The USB plug is hidden inside the coin which could be easily push out by twisting the sides in opposite direction.

Compatible with the Mac and PCs the CurrenKey Drive uses Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and is backward compatible with earlier USB specs. The Gold 16GB Coin costs arround $66 – $99.90, Silver 8GB coin costs $32.95 and the Bronze 4GB coin $29.24.

According to several reviews the Currenkey performs well but is a bit pricey for its capacity. The Currenkey may be expensive but it’s unique design is the selling point and if I have the money I would collect several of these.
