Adobe Systems Senior Director Paul Betlem revealed in their Flash On The Beach (FOTB) conference, that they are developing a Flash Player for the iPhone, but still, Apple gives the go signal as to when it will be available.

For the first time, Paul Betlem publicly confirmed that Adobe is actively developing a Flash Player for Apple’s popular phone.

“My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it’s a closed platform.” He noted that Apple makes all the decisions, so in other words, the ball is in Apple’s yard at this time. If Apple says yes, Adobe will have the player available in a very short time.

Paul Betlem also confirms that an Adobe Flash player for iPhone depends entirely on Apple’s approval, but claims that a player could be made available “in a very short time” if Apple gives them their go ahead.

Steve Jobs claimed earlier this year that the full version of Flash will not run well on the iPhone, but if anyone has a good shot at getting their technology into the device, it would be Adobe. [FlashMagazine]

Many are still waiting for the Flash support for the iPhone, if Adobe if just waiting for Apple’s go ahead then this is good news, let’s just hope that Apple gives their approval as soon as possible.
