Today while I was reading our local news I saw an advertisement of the Sony Ericsson Aino. I know that Aino is a Finish Mythological character, so I searched up google and found out that Aino means “Only” and it’s also the name of a famous Japanese Girl (Aino Kishi) which I rather not look for again. Since I’m still searching for a good phone, I thought that this could be the “Only Phone” I need. So let’s see if this phone could fit my requirements.
The Aino is a GSM phone that boasts its Media Go application, with Media Go you can transfer you latest music and movie files from PC to the Aino over Wi-Fi, It have a touch screen interface and comes with a Bluetooth headset (out of the box) and a charging station stand. And the most intriguing feature is it’s ability to control and access PlayStation 3 via Wifi, I’m not a gamer and I’m not sure why you need the Aino to control your Playstation as if the joystick that comes with the PlayStation 3 is not enough (anyone please enlighten me).
Techradar have a review of the Aino and these are the things they linked (Pros)
- the simplicity of the layout
- BBC iPlayer is always a plus
- The touch interface is easy to use
- The included stand MH100 headse is a selling factor
- GPS system with a number of location based services is also good
Those are the Good thing but they also mentioned some things they do not like about the Aino (Cons)
- Extremely laggy OS when multi-tasking to
- The odd touch/non-touch combination
- The camera taking more than 10 seconds to move from one picture to another
- PS3 connectivity doesn’t work consstantly
- Media player are slow to react
It seems like it have some fair number of pros and cons, and that slow OS could be the reason why the camera is slow, it could be the root of all things unlikeable on this Phone. I think the only selling point of the Aino is it’s PS3 connectivity and the Media Go function, if you really need that then this phone is for you other wise you can consider other Sony Ericsson Mobile Phones.
