Today the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) announced that the USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed) Compliance and Certification Program is now ready. And once the product have been reviewed and passed USB-IF standards, it can have a SuperSpeed logo to it.
So this means the current USB 2.0 on my current iMac will be obsolete sooner than I think. Luckily I still have 2 years to dispose this Mac, perhaps by that time Apple is already placing SuperSpeed USB 3.0 on every Macs.
BEAVERTON, Ore.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) today announced the availability of the USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed USB) Compliance and Certification Program. The program allows manufacturers to achieve certification and qualify to use the SuperSpeed USB logo by testing their products to ensure compliance to the USB 3.0 specification.
