According to AppleInsider, Apple has begun warning resellers that new orders for the high-end 24-inch iMac may not be filled due to decreasing supplies.

Apple also advised its partners about a limited availability of the remainder of the iMac line in the coming weeks, a sign which this late in the product’s life-cycle “only means one thing”, new models are on the way and the company is drawing down inventory levels ahead of new models.

But short of Apple introducing a completely new breed of Mac desktop, it would appear the only likely candidates for such upgrades would be the iMac and Mac mini, with the former being a safer bet from both a strategic and historic standpoint

It was barely a year ago when the iMac was released, the iMacs was just released las April 2008, it there is an update coming then probably isn’t due for any kind of massive redesign, it is most likely that the desktops will get a bump from dual- to quad-core procs in time for the release of Snow Leopard.

The iMac was released barely a year ago but it looks like it is already going to have an update, or maybe it is the Mac Mini, these are still rumors and without solid evidence, we can just guess which one will employ these new upgrades.
