If you have a Gmail account then you might notice that Gamil went down for a few hours yesterday. users were faced with blank screens for two and a half hours this morning, after a widespread outage of the webmail service.
Gmail users were left with no access to email, calendar and contact information after the service went offline around 10.25am GMT. It affected users across the globe.
‘We know that for many of you this disrupted your working day. We’re really sorry about this, and we did do everything to restore access as soon as we could.‘ Acacio Cruz, Gmail Site Reliability Manager wrote on the company blog
It also appeared that only web-based email appears affected, as users were able to send and receive emails through other devices such as mobile phones.
Gmail going down yesterday is the second global outage for the company in less than a month. Google Search recently went offline for an hour when a human error marked all search results as malicious.
Personally, I didn’t even notice Gmail goin down yesterday, I just check when I saw threads about it going down. Good thing that it only went down for a couple of hours.
