Mozilla’s FireFox 3.1 Beta is now ready for download, they haven’t yet officially announced the beta release, luckily, Lifehacker was able to covered a lot of the features you can expect.
Some of the features we should expect includes:
Faster JavaScript
- Despite the fact that TraceMonkey comes built into 3.1, you still have to know how to enable it to take advantage. Here’s how it works:
- Open
about:configin your browser. - Paste
javascript.options.jit.contentinto the filter. - Double-click the remaining preference to set the boolean to
true.
Location Awareness
- Firefox 3.1 will introduce geolocation to the mix, streamlining the process required to get information from web sites based on your location.
Improved Ctrl-Tab 3D Interface
- A fancy new 3D tab-switching interface, looks beautiful and functional at the same time.

I also use FireFox and I just can’t wait to get my hands on this new version. I tend to wait for more reviews before I try it for myself, better safe than sorry right?
