Myspace was the first to be banned and it looks like Facebook is going to meet the same fate. When asked why Apple banned Myspace, Apple only said “Nearly 2 million people visit Apple Stores every week. We want to provide everyone a chance to test-drive a Mac, so we are no longer offering access to MySpace in our stores.”

Apple has decided to add Facebook to the list of banned websites at retail locations nationwide to thwart loiterers.

“Apple Stores have become a regular Internet Cafe, so placing the most popular time-killer [Facebook] of them all on the banned-list will certainly help everyone get a chance to test out the computers”. says tinyComb

note: According to Wall Street Journal, Apples ban on facebook is on a store-by-store bsis only and not all Apple stores have a ban on Facebook.

“Apple does not block Facebook,” an Apple spokesman said. Facebook is integrated into the company’s iLife suite, which Apple Store workers regularly demo at the retail locations.
