Developers are now allowed to issue promotional copies of their apps in the Apple Store.
Developers are now allowed to issue up to 50 promotional codes after their App has been accepted in the App Store. The promotional codes will allow the recipient to download a full copy of the application for free. These codes can only be used in the U.S. iTunes Stores by using the “Redeem” link in the App Store.
