Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios’ big screen adaptation of Marvel’s legendary Super Hero Iron Man will launch into theaters on May 2, 2008. Oscar nominee Robert Downey Jr. stars as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the story of a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man. The film also stars Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and Oscar nominees Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges and will be directed by Jon Favreau.
I just saw the trailer and this movie looks promising! Just take a look at the cast:
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
- The Billionaire Industrialist, Genius Inventor and Consummate Playboy who builds the invincible suit of armor known as Iron Man
Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia “Pepper” Potts
- Tony Stark’s executive assistant who became an indispensable part of Tony’s life. Pepper is always there to put out the fires that Tony Stark/Iron Man leaves in his path.
Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane
- Tony Stark’s right hand man and a top executive at Stark Industries. Stane is the calculating genius who is willing to do anything to get the job done.
Terrence Howard as Lt. Colonel James Rhodes
- Tony Stark’s most trusted ally and bestfriend. Rhodey is also the military’s chief liaison to Starks Industries.
I for one will definitely waiting for this movie. Playdate on May 2, 2008 we still have more than a month to wait. Just hope that it will be worth the wait
