Here you go folks, the latest version of the iPhone jailbreak/unlock utility PwnageTool is available now, and includes both Cydia and Installer 4 beta. You still can’t unlock your iPhone 3G with this, but you can jailbreak it to use apps that aren’t purchased from the official iTunes Store. This Tool is for Mac users only, if you are a windows user download Winpwn. If you want to unlock your iPhone, there are aftermarket unlocking cards now available.
They recommend that you update the application through ’sparkle’ which is the internal updating tool that comes with the PwnageTool. However if you would like to download and install it you can.
Here is what they say about the installer 4 beta.
“Installer 4 Beta is included, it is part of a custom package inside “Advanced Mode” the main installer package management interface within PwnageTool isn’t enabled yet, and will report that installer.app isn’t available, but the actual Installer.app package is added as a default option in Advanced Mode.”
The funny thing is even though it is in beta, it is still safe to install and use. These guys just say it’s beta so you can’t blame them for misc. errors. For the most part it’s finished, but just to be safe they call it beta. lol…
