Full Metal Jacket Movie

I just watched (again) this movie yesterday and it always feels like its the first time I’m watching it, its the same feelings you’ll feel all over again, same excitement, pity, anger, just mixed emotions with every scene. There is no doubt that Full Metal Jacket is one of the greatest movie ever made and it is highly recommended. Written and directed by a great director Stanley Kubrick, Oscar nominee for best writing, screenplay for this movie, and many more nominations for his other great movies like “The Shinig” “Eyes Wide Shut” and many more.

The movie can basically be divided into two parts. First, the hardships that a group of guys have to endure during training at a military camp and the other half all about the Vietnam War, from the exploit of Vietnam to the dehumanizing effects the Vietnam War has on the Marines.

I hate to say this but there are some minor flaws on the movie, Its quite understandable since the movie was made like 20 years ago? here are some that I saw and I’m pretty sure that that there are more

- When Joker is walking down the road with Lt. Touchdown, he is to the right of the lieutenant. In the Armed Forces, the person of rank is always on the right.

-When Animal Mother peeks out from the wall and the sniper takes her first shot at him, the squib in the wall (to simulate the bullet impact) goes off before the muzzle blast is seen

-When Joker is on fire watch (where he finds Pyle in the head) he’s using a modern Mag-Lite brand flashlight, which I think didn’t exist at the time.

These are just some of the small flaws and doesn’t even affect the outcome of the movie. Overall this movie is great and I’ll be watching it again. Highly recommended for guys who love to watch War Movies, This one should always be on top of your list
