Mozilla brings out Firefox 3.5.3, It’s just weird that Firefox need to crash first before initiating the upgrade.Firefox fixed several Vulnerabilitis that can be used to run attacker code and install software , without user interaction. These includes the following:

  • MFSA 2009-51 Chrome privilege escalation with FeedWriter
  • MFSA 2009-50 Location bar spoofing via tall line-height Unicode characters
  • MFSA 2009-49 TreeColumns dangling pointer vulnerability
  • MFSA 2009-47 Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (rv:1.9.1.3/1.9.0.14)

They also fixed 43 bugs in this upgrade, I’m not sure bout you but you can check out the list of bugs here. You will need to update Adobe Flash player after the firefox upgrade, you can get it here.

I also noticed that firefox asked me access to Keychain, but looking at the release note there’s nothing related about Keychain access. Perhaps this feature has been there since 3.5
