While comparing available tough digital cameras I stumbled upon Olympus µ TOUGH 6010 which I think is an upgrade to Tough 6000 but less tougher than the 8000.
With 12.7 megapixel resolution the 6010 is indeed an upgraded 6000. So how does it compare to the previous model?
- Resolution – 12.7mp vs 10.34mp
- Internal Memory – 45 mb vs 43 mb
- Additional Shooting Modes – Magic Filter which not available in the previous model.
- Still Image Edit Functions – now includes “Beauty Fix, Perfect Fix”
- Better Colors

That’s it! There’s only 5 documented feature upgrade. Unless you really need that 12.7 megapixel resolution your tough 6000 is still good, don’t be fooled by sales person saying bigger resolution is always better. Believe me, it will only make your hard drive fill up faster.
