Nikon just released two new wide-angle lenses, the 24mm f1.4G ED and 16-35mm f/4G ED VR. Both are compatible with DX mounting system but the later is specially made for the FX format DSLR’s. The Gold Ring around the lens indicates that these two new lenses are of Pro-Level class.

The 24mm f1.4G ED doesn’t have VR (Vibration Reduction) Nikon’s image stabilization, but its wide aperture f1.4 enables the lens to take in large amount of light making it focus quickly, perfect for low light situation. The lens is made up of extra-low dispersion glass which minimizes chromatic aberration.

The second lens is the 16-35mm f4G ED VR, unlike the first lens this one have a bit of zoom while being extremely wide and it includes VR to compensate motion blur. At $1,260 this lens is a lot cheaper than the first lens which costs $2,200.

I ‘m personally excited about the 24mm f1.4G ED, it’ll work great on low-light situation but the price is such a hinder.
