Nikon 300mm VRIINikon have recently upgraded its 300mm telephoto prime lens. The AF-S 300mm f2.8 ED VR II is now VRII enabled, enabling it to produce blur-free images up to for times slower shutter speeds than normal. It also now includes M/A focus mode which will enable you to autofocus and then use the focus ring at the same time, I find this very efficient than using only manual focus which you’ll have to rotate the focus ring several times.

The lens system is still the same, with dimensions measuring 124mm x 267.5mm, this thing weights 2.9kg. The optical system features eleven elements in eight groups, that includes three ED glass elements topped with Nano Crystal Coat.

The suggested price of the The AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II is £5100.00 / €6050 / 8,842.20 US dollar and is expected to be available on 29 January 2010.
