The S90 is Canon’s new charm, while the lack of HD video is a definite turn-off it’s manual rotating control on the lens and it’s low light performance is a WOW factor.

While in the hunt for underwater camera I found out that the Canon S90 have an underwater casing and is available for pre-order at Amazon the WP-DC 35. Manufactured by Canon this underwating should be perfect for deep see diving.

The downside of using underwater casing instead of just buying waterproof camera is you get to shoot with a bulkier camera but you can go deeper than most waterproof counterpart. BUT underwater cameras don’t perform like the canon S90 so you sacrifice portability for Photo Quality. I used to own an olympus P90 underwater casing with my C8080 WZ an 8 megapixel semi pro. I get to shoot great images but setting and maintaining the underwater casing is such a chore and It’s too bulky that it takes attention whenever i use it on a public pool.

Still I’m in a dilemma, my first option is the Panasonic TS1 so i might just buy it for now and sell it until i found a S90 like digicam with HD capability small enough to fit on a smaller underwater casing, then that time I’ll go for a separate underwater casing. Oh man I hate sacrifices.
